Digiterm TMS Therapy Chair Platform
Specialized TMS patient positioning based on Comfort-2, Comfort-3 or Comfort-4 therapy chairs
Digiterm’s TMS Therapy Chair Platform combines the proven Comfort therapy chair range with a specialized TMS Option Set for stable, precise and reproducible patient positioning.
Instead of limiting TMS applications to a single chair model, Digiterm allows healthcare providers, research facilities and TMS system manufacturers to select the chair platform that best matches their clinical workflow.
The TMS Option Set can be configured with Comfort-2, Comfort-3 and Comfort-4 therapy chairs, providing different levels of positioning flexibility, patient access and operator ergonomics while maintaining the same TMS-focused approach to head support and coil positioning.

One TMS Solution – Three Chair Platforms
Every TMS department has different requirements. Treatment protocols, available space, patient populations, coil-holder systems and operator workflows can all influence the ideal chair configuration.
Digiterm therefore offers the TMS Option Set on three Comfort chair platforms.

Comfort-4 + TMS
Height-adjustable premium platform for advanced TMS environments
Comfort-4 adds electrically adjustable seat height to the TMS configuration, allowing the patient’s position to be adapted not only to the treatment protocol but also to the working height preferred by the clinician.
This makes Comfort-4 particularly suitable for advanced TMS environments, research facilities and installations where multiple operators or different treatment systems share the same chair.
Recommended for:
Advanced TMS centres, research environments and applications requiring maximum operator ergonomics and positioning flexibility.

Comfort-3 + TMS
Compact dimensions, easy patient access and greater positioning flexibility
Comfort-3 combines the specialized TMS configuration with a compact chair architecture designed for efficient use of treatment-room space.
Its lower seat height and front-entry design can make patient access easier, while electric backrest, seat-tilt and legrest adjustment provide greater control over patient posture. Optional height adjustment can further improve clinical ergonomics.
Recommended for:
TMS clinics where compact dimensions, easy patient access and flexible positioning are especially important.
Comfort-2 + TMS
Proven functionality and an excellent price-performance ratio
Comfort-2 provides a reliable and comfortable platform for TMS treatments where straightforward electrical positioning and long-term durability are the main priorities.
Its electrically adjustable backrest and legrest allow the patient to be positioned comfortably for treatment, while the specialized TMS backrest and headrest provide the stability required for neurostimulation procedures.
Recommended for:
TMS clinics looking for a reliable, cost-effective dedicated treatment chair.

The Digiterm TMS Option Set
Universally Adjustable TMS Headrest
Precise positioning begins with stable support of the patient’s head.
The specialized Digiterm TMS headrest offers multiple adjustment possibilities, allowing the clinician to adapt the support to the patient’s anatomy and the requirements of the treatment.
Depending on configuration, the headrest can be adjusted for:
-
height
-
forward and backward position
-
angle / tilt
-
individual patient anatomy
The padded support helps stabilize the head while maintaining patient comfort during repeated or extended treatment sessions.
The objective is simple: support a consistent patient position throughout the TMS procedure.

Special TMS Backrest

The TMS configuration uses a specially engineered backrest designed to provide both patient support and a stable structural interface around the cranial treatment area.
Unlike a conventional therapy-chair backrest, the specialized construction provides improved access around the patient’s head and creates a secure platform for the integration of compatible TMS coil-holder systems.
This is particularly important when accurate coil positioning needs to be maintained throughout a treatment session or reproduced across repeated sessions.
Designed for TMS Coil-Holder Integration
The backrest is specifically engineered to provide a stable and secure platform for custom-designed TMS coil-holder systems, helping maintain accurate coil positioning throughout treatment.
This allows the patient chair and coil-positioning system to function as a coordinated treatment setup rather than as independent pieces of equipment.
The open and configurable architecture also makes the Digiterm TMS platform suitable for integration projects with TMS equipment manufacturers, research institutions and specialized neurotherapy providers.
The TMS coil and coil-holder system shown in product illustrations may be supplied by third parties and are not necessarily part of the Digiterm product configuration.

Stable Patient Positioning for Precise TMS Treatment

TMS requires more than patient comfort.
The position of the patient’s head relative to the stimulation coil is a fundamental part of the treatment setup. Unwanted movement during the procedure can change this relationship and may require repositioning by the operator.
Digiterm TMS chairs therefore combine:
-
stable head and neck support
-
adjustable patient posture
-
a rigid chair structure
-
controlled electrical positioning
-
ergonomic access around the patient’s head
-
compatibility with specialized coil-positioning solutions
Together, these features create a stable patient platform for consistent and repeatable TMS procedures.
Designed Around the Patient and the Operator
Patient Comfort
TMS treatments may involve repeated treatment sessions, making patient comfort an important part of the overall therapy experience.
Digiterm Comfort chairs provide ergonomic body support, adjustable armrests and electrically controlled positioning so that the patient’s posture can be adapted to individual needs.
The removable DuoShape upholstery is designed for routine clinical use and can be replaced when required, supporting long-term maintenance of the chair.

Clinical Access

The separated headrest and specialized backrest leave the cranial treatment area accessible to the clinician and external equipment.
Depending on the selected Comfort platform, additional positioning possibilities such as seat tilt or height adjustment can help bring the patient into an optimal position relative to the stimulation system.
This can reduce the need for the clinician to compensate for unsuitable patient height or posture during setup.
TMS and EEG Applications
Digiterm TMS configurations can also support environments combining Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation with EEG and other neurodiagnostic technologies.
These applications place particularly high demands on stable patient positioning because patients may need to remain comfortable and relatively motionless while sensitive physiological signals are recorded.
The configurable headrest and backrest system can therefore also be useful for:
-
TMS
-
TMS-EEG
-
EEG
-
neuroscience research
-
neurostimulation research
-
neurological diagnostic procedures
-
other head-focused diagnostic or therapeutic applications

A Platform for TMS System Integration

Digiterm can work with TMS equipment manufacturers, distributors, research organisations and healthcare providers to create chair configurations adapted to specific treatment systems.
Depending on the selected chair and project requirements, configurations can incorporate advanced control and connectivity features as well as interfaces for external equipment.
This modular approach allows the chair to become an integrated part of the treatment environment rather than simply a patient seat.
For OEM or system-integration projects, please contact Digiterm to discuss mechanical, electrical and control-system requirements.

Easy-to-Clean, Exchangeable Upholstery

Digiterm’s removable upholstery system is designed for demanding clinical environments.
The cushions can be removed separately for cleaning, servicing or replacement without replacing the complete chair. Liquid-resistant medical upholstery materials support routine disinfection while the exchangeable construction can help extend the useful service life of the equipment.
A wide range of colour combinations is available to coordinate the chair with the interior design or visual identity of the treatment centre.
Why Digiterm for TMS?
Digiterm has been developing treatment-chair solutions for TMS applications since 2009 and combines this experience with more than three decades of medical-chair engineering.
Our modular approach provides an important advantage:
you do not have to adapt your treatment environment to one predefined TMS chair.
Instead, the appropriate chair platform, positioning functions, head support and accessories can be selected around the requirements of the TMS system, healthcare professionals and patients.
From a straightforward Comfort-2 configuration to an advanced height-adjustable Comfort-4 platform, Digiterm can provide a TMS seating solution suited to the clinical environment.
