What is transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that uses magnetic induction to target specific areas of the brain. Electromagnetic pulses pass safely through the skull and stimulate the designated brain regions.
During TMS therapy, a high-power stimulation coil is positioned on the patient’s scalp. The rapid change of electrical current flowing through the coil-reaching several thousand amperes within microseconds – generates a highly focused magnetic field that depolarizes neurons in the cerebral cortex.

For electrically controlled medical chairs used in TMS treatments, low electromagnetic interference (EMC) is not only a mandatory regulatory requirement, but also a critical factor for diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.
